Corey will teach a workshop covering his approach to Irish traditional music and modern ballad singing using the guitar for both melody and accompaniment. Participants should bring their own instruments and be familiar with some basic chords and notes. 20 person maximum.

This fun fiddle workshop is geared for kids or adults who are new to Celtic music and may be new to learning by ear. This workshop is suitable for players with at least one year of violin experience.

Beginner’s Bodhrán Basics with David Lofgren (Gallowglass)

No experience? No Drum? No Problem! This class is suitable for beginners age 14+. We will cover the mechanics of playing the traditional Irish frame drum and learn a basic reel pattern, as well as drum and tipper selection, history, and musicality. Bring your own drum or borrow one of ours! 20 person maximum.

Come learn a few dance steps you can break out while you are listening to the music at the festival. Irish 7’s and 3’s, the first step of The Highland Fling, and a few Cape Breton step dance steps. No experience needed – just a sense of fun. Wear soft tennis shoes, ballet or jazz shoes. David Greenberg will play the music for the class.
